Meerkats live in the deserts and grasslands of Africa, including Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Angola.
They live together in big groups to form a community called a mob, gang or clan. To stay safe from predators and cool during hot days, Meerkats live in intricate tunnel systems underground called burrows.
Unlike other burrowing creatures, meerkats live in more than one burrow keeping several in rotation. So unlike most of you, meerkats have more than one home!
