How do meerkats breathe?

They breathe through two lungs just like humans. 

 

How long do meerkats live?

Meerkats live up to 10 years in the wild. 

 

What is the size of meerkat?

At 25-35 cms a meerkat is about the length of a ruler you would find in your pencil case! 

They are warm bloodied animals and on average they weigh 600 - 900 grams. 

Although meerkats are often seen standing on two feet their regular position is on four legs. 

 

Interesting facts

A group of meerkats are called a Clan. A meerkat clan often contains about 20 meerkats, but some super-families have 50 or more members.

Meerkat mobs spend a lot of their time grooming and playing together to keep the family as a tight unit.
